Enchanting Christmas Experience From Colmar
Eguisheim, Riquewihr and Kaysersberg markets in one day — the day is spent in the villages, not at Colmar’s market.
Choose by where you sleep
Pick a Colmar Christmas market tour by where you start the day. If you sleep in Colmar, the market is on your doorstep, so a tour earns its place by taking you to the village markets. From Strasbourg, Basel or Paris, the tour is the transport and the plan in one, and the price reflects the distance.
The six tours
These six Colmar Christmas market tours each do a different job, so they are not ranked against each other. Each card says where the tour starts, what it actually visits and who it suits — including the three that never stop at Colmar’s own market and spend the day in the villages or across the border instead.

Live “from” prices for one adult (two where a minimum applies), GetYourGuide, checked Oct 2026. All six: free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
Side by side
On your own, Colmar Christmas market is free and easy: the six squares are ten minutes apart and the station is a 15-minute walk away. A tour pays off for the village markets without a car and for the long trips in from Basel or Paris. The comparison shows which tour covers Colmar’s own market and which spends the day elsewhere.

From Switzerland
The guided Colmar Christmas market tour from Basel costs from €64 and takes about nine hours, leaving from Steinenberg 4 by minicoach. It runs only on 5, 6 and 12 December 2026, because it pairs Colmar with Ribeauvillé’s medieval market, which opens on just two weekends. On any other day, the train is quicker and cheaper: about 40 minutes each way.
Going on your own? The getting-there guide has the station walk, car parks and the weekend Park & Ride.
The tour’s value is Ribeauvillé, which is awkward to reach by public transport, and a driver-guide who handles the border both ways; it has one review so far, a five-star one from December 2024. A separate wine-tasting day from Basel is bookable from late October, before Colmar’s market opens on 23 November, so pick a date inside the market season if the stalls are the point.

From France’s capital
Do a Colmar Christmas market tour from Paris over two days. The 2-day tour (from €550 per person, minimum two) sleeps in Colmar, so you see the market lit up after dark and wake up in the old town. A same-day trip means an overnight coach each way for a few hours in Colmar, while the direct TGV takes 2 h 25–2 h 36.
The two-day tour leaves from Boulevard de Bercy in a minivan for up to seven passengers and includes visits to champagne houses with tastings on the way. It is new on GetYourGuide, so there are no reviews yet; departures start on 2 December. On your own, the direct TGV from Paris Est gets you to Colmar before the stalls open at 10:00 or 11:00. Already in Colmar
The best-value Colmar Christmas market walking tour costs €21 a person for two hours with a live guide through the illuminated old town, Petite Venise and the market squares, with a tasting of local products at the stalls. It starts at the Musée Unterlinden, with morning and 14:00 departures on the dates it runs, and needs at least two people.
Reviewers single out the guide’s history of the half-timbered houses and the clear meeting arrangements. If you would rather walk with a local in the late afternoon, when the lights come on, there is a one-hour walk with a hot drink and a snack, priced per booking for a group of up to eight. Families can swap the guide for a self-led Christmas quest. To plan your own route, see the six market squares.

What to expect
A Colmar Christmas market tour to the villages leaves Colmar at 9:30 in a minivan for six to eight people, stops at three village markets and is back after about eight hours. Reviewers say the time at each stop felt right and that the driver-guide fills the drive with local history; several also mention a wine tasting at a family winery.
The order of stops can change on the day: one guest on the three-countries tour noted that the route ran differently from the listing but still covered three markets in three countries, and a few reviewers on the Strasbourg and three-countries tours found it more of a driven day with short overviews than a guided walk. Dress for standing outside in December — most of the day is spent in open-air squares. Each village keeps its own market dates; Riquewihr closes on 20 December.
We had enough time in all 3 places - Eguisheim, Riquewihr & Kaysersberg. Car was fantastic & enjoyed the tour.

Honest answer
A Colmar Christmas market tour is worth it if you want the village markets without a car or a ready-made day from Strasbourg, Basel or Paris. It is not worth it if you only want Colmar’s own market: that is free, compact and easy to walk on your own, and the village tours from Colmar do not even stop there.
Reviews
The three most-reviewed Christmas tours around Colmar average 4.4 out of 5 from 136 GetYourGuide reviews. Guests praise the small minivan groups and the driver-guides’ stories; the most common caveat is that the order of stops can change on the day, and that some guides talk less than others.

The tour exceeded our expectations. Didier was our driver guide and did an amazing job! As this was an all day tour he found the right balance between talking and silence. We had our own time to explore 2 of the villages and their Christmas Markets. The wine tasting at a family Alsace winery was a nice break from the days walking.

We went to 3 different Christmas villages from 3 different countries which I think this tour is the only way to do this itinerary (except to rent a private car). There were some trivias and history that were shared in between. The car was comfortable. From the pickup point to the drop off area took approximately 9 hours. This tour was a good value for our money.

Florence is one of the best tour guides we ever had. It was a pleasure to see Colmar and Ribeauville with her by our side. On a more technical side, everything was as expected: meeting point, transportation, group size, schedule etc. And the Christmas markets are definetely different from the ones in Strasbourg, much more ‘local’ and authentic.
Of the tours with real reviews, only the 7-hour tour from Strasbourg includes free time at Colmar’s Christmas market. The day trip from Basel and the 2-day trip from Paris also include Colmar. The village tours from Colmar spend the day in Eguisheim, Riquewihr and Kaysersberg instead, so you see Colmar’s own market on your own in the evening.
The two village tours that start in Colmar pick you up from your accommodation or one of two pickup points. Tours from Strasbourg, Basel and Paris start at a fixed meeting point: Place de la Cathédrale in Strasbourg, Steinenberg 4 in Basel and Boulevard de Bercy in Paris.
